Jason Crichton was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in biology and chemistry. He worked for the National Aquarium in Baltimore until 1997 when he was recruited to Charleston, South Carolina to be a part of the team responsible for building and opening the South Carolina Aquarium (SCA). He worked as the Director of Husbandry & Facilities at the SCA for many years, during which time he designed and constructed the animal habitats and was instrumental in establishing their Sea Turtle Rescue Program. His 25-year career in the aquarium field allotted him many opportunities that contributed to the development of his photography skills. Jason now works as a photographer and realtor combining his vast knowledge of building construction, professional photography skills, passion for Lowcountry living, and a wide network of professional and social connections.
